Víctor Aguado Víctor M. Aguado started his aviation activities as a Lufthansa student trainee in 1975. He was Manager, Technical Standards on the Maintenance Air Force Base, Albacete, Spain from 1977 and moved to Boston in 1978 to work as Systems Engineer in civil and military ATM at Mitre Corporation. He came back to Spain in 1983 as Programme Director for advanced ATM systems including the launching of the national SACTA (automated ATC System) Programme in the Spanish CAA, Madrid. Between 1984 and 1985, he was Executive Advisor for Aerospace and Telecommunication Affairs to the Secretary of State of Defence and Chairman of the intergovernmental task force in the analysis of major aerospace programmes. Víctor M. Aguado became Deputy Director General in 1985 and Director General in the Spanish Administration in 1988. In 1990, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of ISDEFE, S.A. Systems Engineering and Consulting Company, Madrid. In 1993, Víctor M. Aguado moved to ICAO Montreal as Air Navigation Commissioner and was elected President, Air Navigation Commission in 1996 for four consecutive mandates. Víctor M. Aguado holds a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnical University, Madrid, a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts, a Diploma in Senior Management from INSEAD-Euroforum, Madrid, and a Diploma in Financial Management from ESADE, Madrid. Amongst other distinctions, Víctor M. Aguado has been awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Aeronautical Merit and the Global Novacom Laurel Award (ANC collective). Víctor M. Aguado joined Eurocontrol as Director General on 1st January 2001. |
