Flight Safety Foundation is pleased to recognize Edward R. Williams for his multi-faceted work on behalf of safety in corporate and business aviation.

Williams, a highly experienced pilot, corporate flight department manager and accident investigator, had a 35-year career at AAU/Global Aerospace, a leading worldwide aviation insurer. For 16 of those years, he was vice president, director of the General Aviation Safety Department, advising his company’s underwriting and claims staff, as well as providing on-site operational safety audits of corporate flight departments, fixed-base operators and small regional air carriers.

Williams has contributed greatly to the Foundation’s work as chairman of its Corporate Advisory Committee, as well as a member of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee. He is also a member of the National Business Aviation Association Safety Committee and the American Society of Safety Engineers. As founder and CEO of The Metropolitan Aviation Group, he is an active, certified International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) corporate aviation auditor.

Flight Safety Foundation is proud to recognize Edward R. Williams for helping to bring the benefits of worldwide progress in risk management to the corporate and business aviation community.
