Flight Safety Foundation For Outstanding Service is presented to the Hon. Carl W. Vogt
For enduring contributions to international aviation safety as chairman and member of the Board of Governors of Flight Safety Foundation. After distinguished service as chairman and member of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, he joined the Board of Governors in 1994 and he was elected chairman in 2001. He tapped his experiences as an attorney, a civilian pilot and a former U.S. Marine Corps jet fighter pilot — as well as professional relationships within government and industry — to be a wise counselor, a persuasive advocate, a patient mediator and a judicious sounding board. With quiet diplomacy, common-sense insights and a renowned ability to leave winners on all sides in negotiations, Mr. Vogt opened more doors to the Foundation’s global work. He has been a wellspring of encouragement and inspiration to colleagues who devoted years to issues such as reducing controlled flight into terrain and approach-and-landing accidents, and he traveled widely to represent their work. In great measure, the Foundation’s worldwide credibility and prestige can be attributed to his generosity of spirit, commitment and vision. Flight Safety Foundation is pleased to recognize the Hon. Carl W. Vogt for his contributions to initiatives that have helped to save lives and aircraft. FSF 57th annual International Air Safety Seminar Stuart Matthews |
