Cecil A. Brownlow Publication Award

presented to

Gary Stoller
USA Today

For providing thorough and understandable information on a range of aviation safety issues to a readership not necessarily familiar with them.

Stoller, investigative travel editor for USA Today, has looked beyond basic news reporting to produce a series of articles about aircraft electrical wiring and storage of oxygen canisters aboard commercial airplanes, as well as comprehensive reports about airport-security procedures.

He has been aggressive in reporting important issues — some of which were not widely reported by the general media — with clarity and balance that fosters an informed public. His articles have been well-researched and accompanied by graphic presentations that enhanced understanding of the issues.

Flight Safety Foundation and IHS Aviation Information, the award’s corporate sponsor, are pleased to recognize Gary Stoller for his reporting on aviation safety.
