Flight Safety Foundation For Outstanding Service is presented to Peter Naz, O.B.E.
For service as flight safety officer at two airlines following his long and distinguished military aviation career. In the U.K. Royal Air Force, Naz flew fighter jets, rose through the command ranks and eventually was awarded the Order of the British Empire. Retiring after 38 years of regular military service, Naz began a “second career” as a flight safety officer, first with Britannia Airways and, after another “retirement,” with newly formed DHL Air. He was instrumental in establishing operational flight data management programs at both airlines well before such programs were required. At both airlines, he produced quarterly safety magazines that were widely read in the organizations. During his time with Britannia and DHL Air, Naz acted for eight years as a volunteer chairman of the Flight Safety and Flying Display Committees at the aviation heritage center at Duxford, England. Peter Naz continues to work with undiminished vigor and dedication and enjoys the respect and friendship of his colleagues. Flight Safety Foundation is pleased to recognize Peter Naz for using his wide experience, intelligence, and professional and administrative talents on behalf of aviation safety. 60th annual International Air Safety Seminar William R.
