Embraer

For applying best safety practices to the regional aircraft industry, and continuing that emphasis as Embraer serves the market for larger commercial jets.

Recognizing needs and demands of regional operators that are different from those of large air carriers, Embraer provides support not only for the product but for safety programs and safety awareness campaigns. Good communication, fast and proactive  response to identified in-service difficulties, and the exchange of technical information between the manufacturer and customers have contributed to safe operations in the regional industry segment.

Embraer implemented a safety monitoring program and established a product safety committee involving all areas of the company in systematic analysis of safety-related incidents and issuance of reports based on risk assessment. Statistics indicate that these efforts have significantly reduced incidents.

A member of Flight Safety Foundation for two decades, with an officer on the Board of Governors, Embraer has supported the Foundation’s work on behalf of global safety. It is a member of the Pan American Aviation Safety Team and many other safety-related international groups.

Flight Safety Foundation and the award’s sponsor, the Friendship Fund, are pleased to recognize the corporate leadership and contributions of Embraer to aviation safety.
