Flight Safety Foundation For Outstanding Service is presented to Susan M. Coughlin
Flight Safety Foundation is pleased to recognize Susan MacGregor Coughlin for her service to aviation safety. Mrs. Coughlin was confirmed in 1990 as a member of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, and was appointed to two consecutive terms as vice chairman. She was the NTSB acting chairman in 1992. Beginning in 1994, Mrs. Coughlin spent several years in private industry, part of that time as president and CEO of a company that designed and deployed state-of-the-art air traffic control systems. Becoming president of the Aviation Safety Alliance in 2002, she turned her attention to educating the news media through presentations by industry newsmakers about the industry’s efforts to improve an already excellent safety record. ASA’s absorption into Flight Safety Foundation in 2006 brought the Foundation greater prominence and strengthened its position as the leading non-profit aviation safety organization. Mrs. Coughlin is currently a consultant to the Foundation, and serves on the FSF Board of Governors and the Board’s Executive Committee. Flight Safety Foundation is pleased to recognize Susan M. Coughlin for her commitment and accomplishments on behalf of aviation safety. FSF 59th International Air Safety Seminar Stuart Matthews |
