presented to

Airports Council International

For producing two handbooks on key airport safety issues.

ACI, whose members operate more than 1,640 airports in 177 countries and territories, fosters cooperation among its member airports and other partners in aviation. The ACI World Operational Safety Subcommittee recognized a need for safety-related “best practice” guidance. The organization, in consequence, produces the Airside Safety Handbook and the Aerodrome Bird Hazard Prevention and Wildlife Management Handbook.

The handbooks are succinct guides to enhancing safety and preventing accidents at airports. They include checklists for action, risk assessment and mitigation. Some 700 copies have been distributed to airports and interested parties.

Flight Safety Foundation is pleased to recognize Airports Council International for its proactive work on behalf of aviation safety.
